Over the last few months I have been learning about content marketing in the digital marketing world. Likely if you are in the digital marketing world you already know the terms B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer). However, you may not know exactly what that entails or the marketing strategies that go along with it.
Business-to-business marketing focuses on logical process purchasing decisions. The target market is not individuals, it is business customers, companies, dealers etc. It has a big emphasis on relationships and requires building close and personal ones. Buyers have often put logical thought before making purchases, because most of the time it is a large scale purchase that is being made.
Business-to-consumer marketing is different. Although there is overlap in some areas B2B and B2C prioritize different thing in different orders. B2C targets direct individuals, the "decision makers" by focusing on emotion driven purchasing. Relationships are short lived they are primarily transactional.
I created this infographic to show an easy to follow break-down of the differences between B2B and B2C. I also have listed the differences in strategies, buyer motivations, call to action and more. I hope you learn something after reading this. Enjoy!
